If you told me a year ago that I would actually be interested in beauty stuff, I would have laughed at your face followed by an eye roll and a death stare. As a child, I have always disliked being made up — my older sister can attest to that. I hated putting make up on my face and I never even bothered with skincare. The first time I used lotion was during my freshman year in highschool (even though my mom always bugged me about it), and my first time to really use a facial wash was during my freshman year in college. Can you believe how much of a noob I was?
I’ve always been clueless about beauty and skincare because those aren’t always in my priority. But when it finally dawned on me that taking care of your skin is not vanity but really just you taking care of yourself, I was hooked. I would spend hours inside a drugstore just looking for the right facial wash, the perfect toner, and the most suitable moisturizer. It was very difficult for me to decide because I hate wasting money on products that doesn’t work or those that do more harm than good. I would go out of the store feeling pretty satisfied but it’s exhausting. Standing in front of shelves, scoring through aisle after aisle, and not having enough guts to ask questions (I’m pretty shy 😀 ), it’s pretty draining too.
Which is why I’m so glad when I discovered BeautyMNL. If you guys follow me on Snapchat or my IG Stories, you would know just how happy I am whenever I receive a package from BeautyMNL. I’ve ordered from them a couple of times already and I have always been satisfied with the products that I got. They had me hooked on skincare and beauty! It’s not impossible though because of how easy it is to shop on their website. (I mean, just look at my wishlist. I have 37 items on it!)
They carry most brands, even those that can be found in our local supermarkets (like St. Ive’s, Dove, Celeteque, Sunsilk, and many more) as well as those that our local department stores do not carry (Colourpop, Kylie Lip Kits, Cos RX, and other foreign brands). Now I can spend more hours finding the right product for me without killing my feet off. It’s also especially easy to get other people’s opinion because of their review section. I never purchase anything online (or even in a physical store) without reading reviews. What’s good about it is that I get an unbiased review — opinion from people who are not affiliated with the brand, thus, providing me with comments not aimed at having me purchase the product for a commission. (Check out all the product reviews on their Beauty by You page, just click on “Reviews” on their top menu)
Not only is it easy to look for products (as their Search bar is highly functional), it’s also easy to pay for items. I always use PayPal because all my blogging money is credited there. But I’ve also tried using the bank deposit method as well. You can also pay through debit/credit card without having to worry about getting ripped off.
Can you guys tell how much I adore BeautyMNL? If I haven’t told you yet, I honestly and really like them! Which is why I was so so happy when they reached out to me to give their site a test run. Of course I would love to! I’ve shown you guys my previous haul during my birthday, and this time, I wanted to purchase things that I’ve always wanted to try out (which I placed on my wishlist!). [RELATED: Birthday Haul] Here are the stuff that I got:
Clarifying Witch Hazel Facial Mist by Beauty Bakery. I’ve been wanting to try out facial mists for quite some time now because of how hot it always is here in the Philippines but I’ve never gotten around to finding one that suits me well. It’s always either too expensive or it has bad reviews. So when I found out about this and saw that not only does it have 5 stars, it’s also very affordable. If my skin reacts well to this, you can be sure that this will be by my side 24/7 especially during summer!
Pit Perfect Underarm Whitening Scrub by Skin Genie. I am so fond of Skin Genie products! I have purchased most of their Lip and Cheek Tints (they’re super cheap but oh so pretty, you guys should try!) and I’ve also tried on their Tomato Facial Mask (smells so good and my skin reacted well to it), so I decided to give this scrub a try. Not that my underarms are dark, but some areas are bumpy due to my previous years of shaving (I’ve only converted to waxing on my senior year in high school). So I read the reviews and they said that after using it, their underarms felt smooth. Of course I added it to my cart!
Orange-Vanilla Dry Shampoo by Made By David Organics. I’ve heard about this product from Bea and I said that I was going to give it a try. I was on the look out for a good dry shampoo because I’m a lazy girl at heart. Dry shampoos still aren’t widely available at drugstores or supermarkets so it was really difficult to find one. The ones I did find online was very pricey, and the affordable ones are out of stock. Good thing I chanced upon this one because I really need to own one already!
Cell Renewal Cream by Sooper Beaute. This cream promises to exfoliate and brighten skin, and I was looking for creams to lighten my pimple scars. The reviews were also good for this one and bonus points because it smooths the skin too! I’m really looking forward to use this because I’ve ran out of my current exfoliator and it’s about time that I try something else.
Those are the four new items that I’m going to put in my beauty and skincare arsenal, all thanks to BeautyMNL! I genuinely love their website, and I’m being very honest when I said what I said above. Also, huge thumbs up because they carry homegrown brands (including Soul Skinfood and Nude Cosmetics that I reviews before!). So cool, right? A Filipino website that supports Filipino brands. #SupportLocal BeautyMNL also has an in-house magazine, Bloom where you can check out tutorials and skincare/beauty product suggestions (my favorites are: 10 Korean Sheet Masks for Every Skin Issue; 40 Beauty Gifts That Cost Less Than P100; and GIFTorial: The Ultimate Lazy-Girl Makeup Trick for the Holidays).
I’ve found my skincare and beauty haven, what about you? 🙂
